From this weekend, Ribble Steam Railway is open every Saturday & Sunday until the end of September, with steam trains running every weekend.

Our next major event is the Teddy Bear's Picnic, on 16th & 17th May.

Any children bringing their teddy bears along for a train ride will be given a picnic lunch to eat - included in their ticket price.

If Mums & Dads also need refreshment, they can purchase snacks from our new 2009 menu on offer in our on-site cafe - now serving hot snacks, as well as drinks & ice creams.

Boiler work continues on Barclay 2261

The new tubeplate is in place, together with replacement longitudinal stays - and currently, the tubes are in the process of being expanded.

It is hoped that the boiler will be filled with water in the next few weeks to begin hydraulic testing, in readiness for later steam testing & then full reassembly of the loco.

It's hoped that No.6 will be completed in time to take part in the 2009 Steam Gala Event.
